Cambodia Gambling Dens
Sunday, 17. June 2018
There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is prohibited. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a prime area, a 3 to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and even though visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is real of many border crossings.
The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored boat gambling den, features 150 one armed bandits and 60 gaming tables. The Naga casino never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, 4 tables of 21, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown quickly opened. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the common table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that contains a number of conveniences on top of the casino, which provides ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machine games and eighty eight gaming tables.
